Hi - I'm Ken Hood
I’m a retired grandpa in Minnesota who believes ordinary people carry extraordinary stories. I’ve spent my whole life listening to people and being amazed at how unique each of their stories was. Now that I’m retired, I finally get to make sure those stories are never forgotten.
I'm retired, but not done.
This is my “one more meaningful thing” before I sit in my chair and watch eight hours of Star Trek every day. (I swear I’ll do that someday lol.)
I’ve watched memories vanish in my own family—not because anyone meant to lose them, but because life moves fast and people forget. A parent passes, a grandparent fades, and suddenly the small details that made their life their life are gone.
I decided I wasn’t going to let that happen anymore.
It started with Avis.
Avis sits with us every day at our community lunch table. She’s almost 84, hilarious, sentimental, and a grandma with an inner‑stinker heart lol. She told us that her grandkids had never heard some of her best stories.
That bothered me.
So Avis became my test case. I listened to her stories, shaped them into chapters, linked up her audio, added her photos, and built her book. She loved it. Her family loved it. And I realized:
I can do this for others. I should do this for others. This is the work I want to do.
Call it a side‑hustle if you want.
Some people call this a retirement side‑hustle or gig work.
I prefer to call it my mission—a soul‑satisfying mission.
Your stories matter. Your voice matters. Your life deserves to be remembered with dignity. And I’d be honored to help you do that.
